Rain, Rain, Hail and more Rain

How do you know you're in Arizona?
When you see this in the middle of a rain storm...
It's like no one had ever seen rain before... people literally running to the windows in the employee break room to check out this unusual site. And I must admit it was quite unusual. I have never seen hail quite this big...
and this is small compared to the others!
You can imagine, though, how big the hail was if after the storm had passed I walked outside to leave for lunch and found this in the parking lot.
I have never before seen this in the Valley! Thanks for an entertaining afternoon ...and not to be forgotten...thanks for the opportunity to hike up my skirt and help save some people whose cars were stuck in the flood waters!

Yard Sale and Conference

If one man's junk is another man's treasure, then why not have a Yard Sale and make some $$$ off your junk?
Well you don't have to tell us twice. We had a community yard sale on Saturday morning...and sold our junk for $180. Not too shabby for items that were going to be donated to Good Will anyways. I even scored some great FREE stuff that my sisters and in-laws brought to sell - purses, hair straightner, papershredder and more! I love getting great deals!

After the yard sale, we relaxed a watched the General Conference broadcast and as you can tell, some of us did more watching than others:) I love conference though and hearing the messages of living prophets and apostles. I always come away with a renewed sense of self and a greater resolve to live the gospel. It was just what I needed! I also love the opportunity to get away with the girls, while the men are at the Priesthood session, and attend Ladies Night at Desert Book. I guess you can call it tradition, but I love it!

Are you (insert bad word here) kidding me?

This...

Only three weeks after I was stung by a scorpion who found it's way into my towel after a shower. Thank goodness I was stung on my arm (it could have been much worse, if ya know what I mean!)

Oh and did I mention that those are my shorts in this picture and that I found this scorpion within 12 hours of finding another larger scorpion on our kitchen floor? Yeah, it still makes me shiver. I think its about time to change pest control companies, how about you?

Confession and check ups

If you're looking for something salacious and juicy you won't find it here:) REALLY! I have nothing more to confess than to admit that I think I am miles behind the mommy learning curve...and I think I know why...

I never read a single child development or parenting book when I was pregnant...and you can rest assured I haven't read one since Kambrya was born either.

I know, I know...I should probably pick one up now, but I figure that "on the job training" is just as good, right? And besides, I think I have better resources and guidance than any book can provide. Thank you to all the moms I know who are under a constant barrage of questions from me about all things baby. I am sure it is thanks to you and your advice that Kambrya has made it to her 6th month anniversary of her birthday! And well...that means...another visit to the Doctor!

Kambrya is doing great and weighs in at a whopping 19lbs 7 oz. She is in the 96th percentile for both height and weight. Comparing notes with other moms, she is nearly 7 lbs more than a baby we know who was born a week earlier than she was. She is definately a Bunn!

I'm not sure how I feel about this...

I guess it can only be described as one of those things that you can't wait until she can do, but you dread the day it finally happens. And YES, it finally happened! This little miss can now hold her own bottle! While it definately frees up a lot of time to accomplish some desperately needed chores around the house, it also means she is growing up (way too fast!), and I'm not quite sure I like that.
